Meet our Staff

Victoria Fernandez

My name is Victoria Fernandez. I am the Site Director of Acorn Preschool.  I have lived in Northern California for over 20 years and I love living in West Sonoma County, but I am originally from Michigan. I am happy to be the Director of Acorn Preschool. I have 9 years of experience working as an early childhood educator, 5 of those as a director for play-based preschool programs that are a part of school districts. I am a proud graduate of UC Berkeley. In my personal and professional life, I am passionate about focusing on learning through play, social emotional growth as well as social justice. Prior to my work as an early educator, I formerly worked in human rights in fair trade education. I'm bilingual in German as well as having lived in Germany for close to 5 years. I am a lifelong learner who loves nature and playing outside. The thing I am most proud of is being a parent to an amazing child.

I look forward to being a part of the Oak Grove Union School District and working with the Acorn Preschool team to create a wonderful program where students will thrive.

Connor Powell

Hi, my name is Connor Powell and I am a Teacher at Acorn Preschool. This will be my fourth year as a teacher here at Acorn. I am also taking on the role of Site Supervisor this coming Fall.  Before I came to Acorn,  I worked at the Santa Rosa Junior College Children's Center for 3 years as an intern teacher. I have been working on receiving my AA in Early Childhood Development from Santa Rosa Junior College.

A little about me, I have lived in Santa Rosa my whole life and have no complaints, it is beautiful here. I have two sisters, one younger and one older, needless to say my parents had their hands full with three girls. Just recently, I have become a mom to one sweet babe. In my spare time, I enjoy relaxing with my family, going to the beach, and hanging out with friends.

I look forward to working with your children and providing them with the tools that they need to grow and thrive.
